چکیده
Abstract Membrane penetration is the term used to describe displacement of rubber membrane into spaces between cylindrical specimens during triaxial testing in consolidation stage. from elevated cell pressure stage might have a negative effect on interpretation stress-strain data and specimen volume calculations shearing To assist engineers making knowledgeable judgments, additional study needed examine granitic residual soil. In this study, was investigated using modified graphical technique. Triaxial tests grade V soil were conducted as part at effective confining pressures 50 kPa, 100 200 300 400 kPa. tests, real constructed compacted with initial diameters 50mm 100mm, dummy made thin layer containing solid, rigid core, both employed. Without considering impact compression, behaviour only examined specimens. The method has be altered result fines. findings demonstrated that increased rise became less relevant kPa or lower.

15 صفحه اولTemperature effect on compression and collapsibility of residual granitic soil
This research aims to investigate the effect of temperature changes on the compression index and collapse potential of the residual granitic soil that is widely encountered in Malaysia. An experimental study was conducted on the compacted soil using a modified temperaturecontrolled oedometer. Temperatures of 27, 40, and 60 oC were applied on two series of soil specimens with different values of...
متن کاملNon-Linear Behavior and Shear Strength of Diagonally Stiffened Steel Plate Shear Walls
In this study, non-linear behavior of diagonally stiffened steel plate shear walls as a seismic resisting system has been investigated, and theoretical formulas for estimating shear strength capacity of the system have been proposed. Several validated analytical finite element models of steel shear walls with various stiffener dimensions are generated to verify and compare the analytical and th...
متن کاملnon-linear study of various slit shear walls in steel structures
seismic retrofit strategies have been developed in the past few decades following the introduction of new seismic provisions and the availability of advanced materials and methods. it can be observed that new approaches to deal with more lateral forces are more innovative and more energy absorbent. in line with this, there is a growing trend toward the use of steel shear walls as a system with ...
15 صفحه اولShear Strength of Soil
One of the most important and the most controversial engineering properties of soil is its shear strength or ability to resist sliding along internal surfaces within a mass. The stability of a cut, the slope of an earth dam, the foundations of structures, the natural slopes of hillsides and other structures built on soil depend upon the shearing resistance offered by the soil along the probable...
